EU-Funded Q-AID Project Launches Quantum MRI Systems

The Q-AID project, funded by the EU, has installed its initial POLARIS systems at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia in Barcelona and the University of Antwerp. These quantum-enhanced MRI systems represent the first major step in an €8.3 million initiative aimed at establishing a unified platform across Europe for advanced metabolic imaging.

NVision Quantum, coordinating the project, is spearheading efforts to create a shared technological and operational foundation for quantum-enhanced MRI. The installations are part of a broader network connecting various research sites, enabling improved detection of metabolic processes and fostering collaboration among institutions.

The project aligns with the EU's strategy to leverage its quantum expertise towards practical applications, with future sites planned in France and Italy. These advancements promise to enhance preclinical research and pave the way for clinical validation in oncology and neurology.
