Duje Caleta-Car on loan to Real Sociedad
Olympique Lyonnais has announced the loan of Croatian defender Duje Caleta-Car to Real Sociedad. The loan is worth €0.5 million and comes with a €4 million purchase option, valid until June 30, 2026.
Having joined from Southampton in 2023, Caleta-Car has made 53 appearances for Lyon and has been capped 33 times by the Croatian national team. The 28-year-old defender appeared in the Nations League quarter-finals in March, strengthening his position on the international stage.
A native of Sibenik, he played in several countries before joining Spain. This loan offers Olympique Lyonnais a potential transfer opportunity, while allowing the player to acclimatize to a top-level championship.
