Valerio Therapeutics Acquires Etherna and Secures Financing
Valerio Therapeutics has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Etherna Immunotherapies, marking a key strategic move to enhance its RNA therapeutics platform. The deal values Etherna at €30 million, and will be settled with both cash and shares. Shareholder approval is anticipated, backed by a strong 70% commitment from existing investors.
A €40.25 million private investment in public equity (PIPE) financing has been secured to support this acquisition and drive development for the newly combined company. Key investors include Artal International SCA and Financière de la Montagne. Valerio aims to overcome conventional mRNA delivery challenges and broaden its application across various diseases.
Integration efforts will focus on leveraging Etherna’s manufacturing capabilities to support Valerio's clinical needs, ensuring a fully integrated, innovative biotech solution.
