OPPO and MediaTek Unveil AI Innovations at MWC 2026

At the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, OPPO and MediaTek presented new advancements in on-device AI technology, emphasizing their collaboration in AI deployment on smartphones. This showcase included features developed using the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 platform, such as AI Translate and AI Portrait Glow, which enhance performance akin to cloud-based solutions.

These AI capabilities will soon be available on the OPPO Find X9 Series via a software update. The AI Translate improves translation accuracy by 15% on average, even without internet connectivity. Meanwhile, AI Portrait Glow offers enhanced photo quality in challenging lighting conditions without network dependency.

The companies also previewed the Omni Model, a full-modal AI model that supports voice, video, and text inputs for enhanced interaction and scene understanding. This is set to strengthen the integration of AI in physical world perception and human-computer interaction.
