Piramal Pharma Solutions Enhances Peptide Facility with New Spray Drying Suite

Piramal Pharma Solutions (PPS) has inaugurated a new advanced spray drying suite at its peptide facility in Turbhe, India. Equipped with Band 5 containment capacity, this suite aims to optimize the formulation of complex molecules such as peptides and HPAPIs.

The introduction of spray drying technology allows the conversion of liquid formulations into dry powders, which enhances drug bioavailability and enables precise control over particle size and compound processing. This process is crucial for peptides due to their instability at high temperatures.

The suite operates as a closed-loop system, featuring specialized HVAC, airlocked entries and exits, and ISO Class 8 cleanliness standards. It is designed for small-volume, high-potency batches at up to 1 liter per hour, targeting complicated biomolecular formulations.

This strategic expansion positions PPS as a reliable partner in tackling complex pharmaceutical challenges, further cementing its role in modern drug manufacture.
