OPmobility to Acquire Hyundai Mobis' Lighting Division
OPmobility has finalized an agreement to acquire Hyundai Mobis' lighting business for 600 billion Korean won. This move aligns with OPmobility's strategy to diversify and enhance its product portfolio and customer base.
Hyundai Mobis' lighting division, with 2025 revenues of 2.5 trillion Korean won, operates five plants across South Korea, China, Mexico, and the Czech Republic. The acquisition aims to expand OPmobility's technological capabilities and geographic reach without affecting its deleveraging strategy.
The closing of the transaction is planned for the second half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals. Félicie Burelle, OPmobility's CEO, emphasized the strategic fit of the acquisition, which will strengthen partnerships and bolster the company's market position.
