PPX Mining Completes Geotubes Testing for Environmentally Friendly Tailings Storage

PPX Mining Corp. has announced the successful completion of its Geotubes testing program aimed at improving tailings storage in its new processing plant. The initiative focused on dewatering efficiency and effluent quality, using geotextiles for storing tailings from oxidized and sulfide ores. Testing involved tailings from the Callanquitas Mine using various geotextile samples.

A standout geotextile from a Chinese manufacturer showed superior performance, including efficient water clarity and dewatering rates, while also being cost-effective. This geotextile will be employed when plant operations commence. The tests, conducted in collaboration with the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería in Peru, reinforce PPX's dedication to sustainable practices that enhance environmental stability.

By choosing Geotubes over conventional tailings dams, PPX aims to reduce environmental risks and capitalize on cost-effective, phased operations growth.
