Lumibird Agrees to Sell Medical Division to IPG Photonics for €300 Million

Lumibird Group has signed a share purchase agreement to sell Lumibird Medical to IPG Photonics Corporation. This follows exclusive negotiations started on July 16, 2026, and consultation with employee representatives. The transaction values Lumibird Medical at €300 million, with a potential earn-out of up to €50 million based on performance through 2027.

The sale received unanimous Board approval and could conclude by Q4 2026, pending customary conditions. An ordinary general meeting will be held on October 20, 2026, to consultatively vote on the transaction.

Upon completion, Lumibird plans to use €37 million to repay debt and return up to €263 million to shareholders. Remaining proceeds would fund investments in the Photonics Division. Lumibird will publish H1 results on September 21, 2026.
