Reju Secures €135 Million for Textile Regeneration Hub

Reju, a company specializing in textile-to-textile regeneration, has secured €135 million from the Netherlands' Nationale Investeringsregeling Klimaatprojecten Industrie (NIKI) program. This funding will aid in the establishment of an industrial-scale Regeneration Hub at Chemelot Industrial Park in Sittard-Geleen. The project represents a key step in Reju's efforts to deliver circular raw materials and reduce emissions in the textile industry.

CEO Patrik Frisk expressed gratitude for the support from the Dutch government and emphasized the project's alignment with industrial decarbonization goals. The hub will convert difficult-to-recycle textiles into high-quality intermediates for new polyester production, thereby decreasing landfill and incineration waste.

The Regeneration Hub will introduce Reju Polyester, which delivers significantly lower carbon emissions than virgin polyester. The initiative also focuses on energy efficiency and creating fully traceable supply chains. Chemelot was chosen for its industrial ecosystem, supporting the project's goals of sustainability and replication at future sites.
