Rentschler Biopharma Names Dr. Torsten Woehr as CEO
Rentschler Biopharma SE has appointed Dr. Torsten Woehr as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, 2026. Dr. Woehr, a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the CDMO and biotech sectors, previously served as Chief Commercial Officer at Bachem Group. There, he spearheaded global commercial initiatives prioritizing sustainable growth. His extensive background includes significant tenures in the U.S. and a doctorate in bioorganic chemistry from EPFL, Lausanne.
Prof. Dr. Nikolaus F. Rentschler, Supervisory Board Chairman, highlighted Dr. Woehr's expertise in business growth and partnership building as crucial during a time of increasing complexities in biologics. Dr. Woehr expressed enthusiasm about leading the company, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to advance medicine.
With this leadership change, the company aims to bolster its growth and sustainability strategies. Interim CEO Prof. Dr. Uwe Buecheler will return to his role as Vice Chairman following Dr. Woehr’s appointment.
