Salzgitter AG Sells DESMA Schuhmaschinen to NAME & MAWI Partners

Salzgitter AG has announced the sale of DESMA Schuhmaschinen GmbH to NAME & MAWI Partners S.A.S. (NMP), marking a strategic step in its portfolio management. This transaction is part of Salzgitter's "2030" Group strategy, focusing on core development areas. DESMA, a leader in shoe manufacturing technology, has been a key player in the industry since 1946. The completion of this sale is anticipated by autumn 2025.

NMP, a German-French industrial group, views this acquisition as a strategic opportunity to enhance production capacity and automation. The integration is expected to bolster NMP’s market position by merging international sales networks. DESMA, headquartered in Achim, remains a world leader in shoe soling technology, manufacturing roughly half of such machines worldwide.
