Sandoz Unveils High-Volume Manufacturing Center in Slovenia

Sandoz Group AG has inaugurated a state-of-the-art biosimilar drug manufacturing facility in Lendava, Slovenia. This new center bolsters the company's in-house production scale and aligns with its Bio100 initiative to expand its biosimilar portfolio to over 100 by 2040. The facility enhances Sandoz's European biosimilar network, complementing its existing sites in Toulouse and Ljubljana.

CEO Richard Saynor emphasized the strategic importance of the facility in meeting the growing demand for biologic medicines, while President Armin Metzger highlighted its role in forming an integrated manufacturing ecosystem. The plant is equipped with smart automation and employs over 300 experts, meeting top international standards.

This development signifies a step towards strengthening Europe's biologic manufacturing base and enhancing supply chain resilience, promising improved patient access and foundations for future growth in affordable medicines.
