Sanofi and Regeneron Strengthen Immunology Alliance
Sanofi and Regeneron have announced an expansion of their longstanding alliance, focusing on next-generation, long-acting immunology antibodies. This agreement includes the development of four antibodies, notably the REGN20423 targeting interleukin-13 (IL-13). These new additions promise to bolster the range of treatments for type 2 inflammation-driven diseases, expanding on the success of Dupixent, a leading antibody treatment.
Under the terms, Regeneron receives an upfront $1 billion payment and potential milestone payments up to $7 billion. Both companies will share equally in development and commercialization costs and profits. Regeneron will lead research efforts, while Sanofi will handle global commercial strategies.
This collaboration marks a significant phase in targeted immunology treatment development, leveraging Regeneron's discovery capability and Sanofi's global reach. Both companies aim to accelerate the introduction of meaningful therapies for patients with immune-mediated diseases.
