Schaeffler Wins German Innovation Award for Industrial Metaverse

Schaeffler AG, a motion technology company in Herzogenaurach, Germany, has been honored with the German Innovation Award in the 'Large Companies' category. The award recognizes Schaeffler’s Industrial Metaverse, which integrates real-world production with digital simulations to enhance manufacturing efficiency. This innovation facilitates the use of AI-supported simulations and software, creating a data-driven production environment conducive to deploying autonomous resources, such as humanoid robots.

The German Innovation Award is presented annually by WirtschaftsWoche, in collaboration with Accenture, BMW Foundation, and O2 Telefónica. It highlights companies contributing to Germany and Europe’s global competitiveness. Schaeffler's Industrial Metaverse, already in use at multiple locations, maps production in a 3D digital space, optimizing processes via advanced simulations. This system paves the way for greater automation and efficiency in manufacturing.
