Schneider Electric to Acquire Cognite for $3.1 Billion
Schneider Electric has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cognite Holding B.V. for $3.1 billion in cash. This acquisition aims to enhance Schneider's capabilities in industrial AI by integrating Cognite's advanced data and AI platform into its operations.
The acquisition aligns with Schneider Electric's strategy to strengthen its position in the industrial AI space. Cognite's platform, renowned for its industrial grade AI, offers advanced analytics and operational decision-making capabilities. It will complement Schneider's existing software company, AVEVA.
The deal is expected to close in the coming quarters, subject to regulatory approvals. Cognite will be integrated with AVEVA, enhancing Schneider's Industrial Automation business. This move marks a significant step towards more intelligent and efficient industrial operations.
