SBO Sees Growth Amid Middle East Conflict

Schoeller-Bleckmann Oilfield Equipment AG (SBO) reported an 8.5% increase in bookings to MEUR 235.3 in the first half of 2026, despite challenges in the Middle East. The order backlog grew significantly, reaching MEUR 117.9, marking an improvement of 31.7% since the start of the year.

Sales showed a 7.7% sequential increase from Q1 to Q2, after a prolonged period of decline or stagnation, driven by SBO's Precision Technology division. Diversification efforts also gained traction, with an uptick in additive manufacturing, geothermal energy demand, and the subsea flow control market.

In terms of financial performance, sales were impacted by a 14.7% decline when adjusted for FX effects, reaching MEUR 204.7 compared to MEUR 253.6 in the previous year. Earnings faced pressure, with profit before tax dropping to MEUR 3.1 from MEUR 26.0.
