SCHOTT Pharma Updates Science-Based Climate Targets

SCHOTT Pharma has announced updated climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The revised objectives focus on sourcing renewable energies, enhancing energy efficiency, and reducing emissions throughout the value chain. A key update involves strengthening the Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions target, emphasizing significant emission reductions.

The company aims to align with scientific and technological developments, ensuring its climate targets evolve accordingly. The updated framework maintains existing Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions targets while introducing a revised Scope 3 strategy, highlighting absolute emission reductions.

The commitment involves reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 46.2% by 2030 from a 2019 baseline and a 27.5% reduction in select Scope 3 emissions. The focus is on decarbonization across SCHOTT Pharma’s operations.
