Philipp Rüede Takes Helm at SCOR Life & Health
Philipp Rüede has been appointed as the new CEO of SCOR Life & Health and will join SCOR's Executive Committee. He succeeds Frieder Knüpling, who stepped down in July 2024. Rüede's immediate focus will be on implementing a new business strategy, enhancing in-force value, and improving the cash profile, aligning with the updated strategy announced in December 2024.
Rüede brings over two decades of experience in banking and reinsurance. A Swiss and German citizen, he is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and ETH Zürich. His career began in equity derivatives at Bank Vontobel, followed by a senior role at CS First Boston.
Transitioning to reinsurance in 2013, he joined Swiss Re, advancing to significant leadership positions. Thierry Léger, SCOR's CEO, expressed confidence in Rüede's capacity to transform SCOR's L&H business. Rüede will assume his new role on June 1, 2025.
