Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm Commences Commercial Operation

The Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm has officially begun commercial operation at its full design capacity of 640 MW. Located in the Taiwan Strait, this project comprises 80 wind turbine generators, boosting Taiwan's offshore wind capacity beyond 3.9 GW. It is set to supply clean energy to over 600,000 households annually.

Yunneng Wind Power Co., Ltd. announced that the project, a joint venture involving Skyborn Renewables, TotalEnergies, EGCO Group, and Sojitz Corporation, has achieved all necessary regulatory and contractual stages. TotalEnergies will manage technical operations as Skyborn continues overseeing management services.

The wind farm, benefiting from a strong financial consortium, will meet 90% of Yunlin County's non-industrial electricity needs and significantly reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 1.2 million tons annually. The achievement is a significant milestone for Taiwan’s renewable energy sector.
