SMT Corp Enhances Global Counterfeit Detection with UK Lab Accreditation
SMT Corp, a leader in sourcing and testing electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components, has extended its accreditations to its UK laboratory. The ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and SAE AS6171 certifications, provided by the ANSI National Accreditation Board, now encompass SMT Labs UK Ltd. This move highlights SMT's technical expertise in detecting counterfeit components.
The UK facility, located in Rochester, Kent, can now conduct a range of Non-Destructive, Mechanical, and Electrical tests. Accredited testing includes 2D radiographic examination, X-Ray fluorescence, visual inspections, and passive component testing.
Both the Sandy Hook, CT, and UK laboratories meet the rigorous ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and SAE AS6171 standards. Richard Hodgson, CEO of SMT Corp, emphasized the significance of this milestone for enhancing global testing services. The accreditation, valid until 2026, confirms SMT's commitment to supply chain integrity.
