Southern Energy Corp. Completes Drilling at Williamsburg

Southern Energy Corp., a producer with assets in Mississippi, announced the successful drilling and casing of the Terrible Creek 21-2 #2 Cotton Valley well at the Williamsburg Field. The drilling rig was released on September 10, 2026. The well reached a depth of approximately 18,825 feet, encountering potential sands in the Sligo, Hosston, and Cotton Valley formations. Completion and testing plans for the Cotton Valley formation are underway.

Ian Atkinson, President and CEO, highlighted the operational success. The well was completed safely, on budget, and reached its full depth in under 22 days, marking it as one of the region's fastest. Efficiencies identified could benefit future drilling projects to reduce time and costs.
