STMicroelectronics and NVIDIA are innovating in power conversion for AI
STMicroelectronics is expanding its portfolio of power conversion solutions for data centers and AI infrastructures. In collaboration with NVIDIA, ST announced new 800 VDC to 12 V and 6 V architectures, showcased at NVIDIA GTC 2026. These solutions complement an existing 800 VDC to 50 V offering and are designed to optimize energy efficiency and computing density for hyperscalers. These architectures are based on ST's advanced power, analog, and mixed-signal technologies.
The 800VDC to 12V conversion improves power distribution by reducing intermediate steps. Furthermore, the 800VDC to 6V conversion, which saves resources and increases performance, is designed for integrations close to the GPU. Together, they reflect a trend toward more thermally efficient AI servers.
