Swiss Life records growth despite job cuts

In the first half of 2026, Swiss Life saw its net profit rise by 8%, reaching CHF 649 million. Operating profit also increased by 8% in local currency, reaching CHF 967 million. Fee and commission income increased by 11%, totaling CHF 430 million.

Despite these positive figures, the group plans to eliminate approximately 600 positions by the end of 2028, half in Switzerland and half abroad. Swiss Life justifies these reductions by citing a need for optimization related to digital transformation.

The "Swiss Life 2027" program remains on track with a SST ratio of 215%, exceeding its target. Initiatives such as the CHF 250 million share buyback planned for October 2026 demonstrate its commitment to reducing outstanding shares. Furthermore, Swiss Life anticipates a dividend payout exceeding 75% of earnings from 2025 onwards.
