Synopsys Extends Chip Design Access via European Platform
Synopsys, Inc. has announced an agreement with the European Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) to enhance access to its electronic design automation (EDA) software through the European Chips Design Platform (EuroCDP). This initiative supports the European Chips Act, facilitating startups and research teams to exploit Synopsys chip design solutions, thus advancing Europe’s strategic goals in artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC).
The EuroCDP provides a simplified entry point for chip innovation, offering streamlined access to Synopsys' design tools. It also includes IP, training, funding, and prototyping support. Synopsys supports both Level 1 and Level 2 of the EuroCDP program, from initial ventures to pre-production, assisting in areas like AI and HPC.
Jari Kinaret, Executive Director of Chips JU, emphasized the role of EuroCDP in providing startups and SMEs access to essential resources for developing new technologies, thereby enhancing Europe's chip innovation ecosystem. The initiative will help turn Europe's potential in semiconductor research and talent into successful products.
