Thai Soft Power Shines at Cannes on 'Thai Night'
Thailand's Ministry of Commerce is showcasing the country's film industry at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival with the 'Thai Night' event. Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana will attend the opening ceremony, demonstrating the royal commitment to Thai cinema.
Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director of DITP, highlights the growth of the local film industry. It now represents 50% of the national market, rivaling international productions. 'Thai Night' offers a showcase of Thai culture and creativity, while also promoting international networking.
The event also features a Thai Pavilion, and highlights the national gastronomy, thus contributing to Thai soft power.
