The Platform Group AG Moves into Optician Industry
The Platform Group AG has announced its entry into the optician sector with the acquisition of two company groups, totaling 30 locations and 200 employees in Germany. This marks the beginning of their new segment, "Optics & Hearing", which is projected to have an EBITDA margin of 25%. The initiative involves linking opticians through their MyGlasses online platform.
The Group plans further acquisitions, anticipated to be completed by 2026, extending into other EU countries. This strategy aims to connect 1,000 local opticians and hearing aid providers to the platform, enhancing e-commerce access. Initial acquisitions include Beste Aussichten GmbH and Karrasch & Nolte GmbH, conducted as share deal agreements.
The CEO, Dr. Dominik Benner, emphasized the potential for high margins and enhanced profitability. The Group also announced further transactions within other industries, expecting significant growth for TPG in the near future.
