Thyssenkrupp Nucera Initiates FEED Study for Green Hydrogen Project in Europe
Thyssenkrupp Nucera AG & Co. KGaA has signed an agreement to conduct a Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) study for a significant 600 MW green hydrogen project in Europe. This initiative marks a crucial step in advancing hydrogen technology aimed at reducing CO2 emissions in challenging industrial sectors.
The identity of the customer remains confidential, but plans indicate the produced hydrogen will be used to support industrial clients in sectors that are traditionally difficult to decarbonize. This development underscores the rising importance of hydrogen as a sustainable energy source in the industrial landscape.
The project will continue to evolve with the potential signing of an Engineering, Procurement, and Fabrication (EPF) contract. A Final Investment Decision (FID) for the project could be reached by 2026, indicating a timeline for the full realization of this hydrogen facility.
