Vallourec wins new order from Petrobras
On October 1, 2025, Vallourec announced a new order with Brazilian operator Petrobras for its SUBMAGNETIC FREE FLOW® technology. This solution aims to reduce inorganic scaling in offshore oil production columns.
More than 30 units will be produced and installed in Brazil's pre-salt fields. SUBMAGNETIC FREE FLOW® uses a magnetic field to limit scale formation, resulting in significant savings by reducing production downtime and the use of scale inhibitors.
Co-developed with Petrobras, this technology has passed all required qualification tests. Jérôme Favre, OCTG Director at Vallourec, sees this order as confirmation of the growing success of this innovation.
