Veolia wins a drinking water contract in Barcelona

Veolia has won a major €1 billion, 25-year contract to manage drinking water services in eight municipalities within the Barcelona metropolitan area. This contract covers approximately 230,000 residents and reinforces Veolia's commitment to Spain, soon to be its third largest market worldwide.

Faced with climate and economic challenges, Veolia is leveraging its expertise and innovation to offer high-quality service at the best price. Planned improvements include a leak detection system, digital centers, modernized meters, and the electrification of its vehicles. These measures aim to secure the water supply, especially after recent droughts.

The decision of the Barcelona metropolitan area will be finalized after the final award of the contract.
