Voltalia Begins Construction of Artemisya Hybrid Cluster in Uzbekistan
Voltalia, a global renewable energy company, has commenced the construction of the Artemisya hybrid cluster in Uzbekistan. This initiative features 100 megawatts of storage and the first 100 megawatts of wind power. This development is poised to bolster Uzbekistan's energy storage infrastructure significantly.
The project follows a Power Purchase Agreement with the Uzbek government, confirmed at the Élysée Palace in March 2025. The Artemisya cluster, Central Asia's first of its kind, integrates solar, wind, and storage technologies.
The construction covers 126 megawatts of solar, 300 megawatts of wind, and 100 megawatts/200 megawatt-hours of storage, with completion targeted for 2027. Located in Bukhara, the hybrid setup aims to increase Uzbekistan's renewable capacity and cut CO₂ emissions.
Voltalia's CEO, Robert Klein, emphasized the project's role in fortifying Uzbekistan's transition to sustainable energy and ensuring grid stability through hybrid solutions.
