Voltalia Plans €120 Million Investment from IFC
Voltalia, a renewable energy firm, announces a pending investment with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group. The deal includes up to €120 million in preferred shares of Voltalia Management International B.V., which are convertible into Voltalia ordinary shares. Shareholders will vote on this proposal on September 17, 2026.
This strategic investment aims to finance new renewable energy projects, aligning with Voltalia's growth strategy. The funds will support the construction of solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems, primarily focused on Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe.
The potential investment will occur in two phases: an initial €75 million tranche and a subsequent tranche of up to €45 million. The transaction marks an important step in diversifying Voltalia’s funding sources while collaborating with a globally recognized finance institution.
