Vulcan Energy Partners with Turboden and ROM Technik for Major Project
Vulcan Energy Resources Limited has entered a significant contract with Turboden and ROM Technik, focusing on the construction of a geothermal power plant in Landau, Germany. This is part of Vulcan's Phase One Lionheart Project, which aims to produce 275 GWh of power and 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide annually, supporting 500,000 electric vehicles.
The consortium between Turboden, an Italian firm under Mitsubishi Heavy Industry, and ROM Technik will manage the engineering, procurement, and construction of the project on a fixed lump-sum turnkey basis valued at approximately €110 million. Turboden is known for its ORC systems, which provide stable renewable power, while ROM Technik will handle the technical installation services.
This contract marks a critical step in Vulcan's strategy to supply sustainable lithium and renewable energy in Europe, pending final project financing in H2 2025. The initiative also aligns with previous agreements and recent approvals for land acquisition by the City of Landau Council.
