Witbe adopts DAB protocol to improve control of video devices
Witbe, a global leader in video service testing and monitoring, has announced that its Witbox robots now support the Device Automation Bus (DAB) protocol. Developed by Amazon, Google, and Netflix, DAB enables simplified, reliable, and standardized remote control of streaming devices.
At the YouTube Device Partner Summit in April 2025, Witbe demonstrated how this protocol facilitates remote device management, moving from traditional infrared control to ATM, while monitoring video performance via the Smartgate dashboard.
With the integration of DAB, Witbe enhances its quality assurance offering and reduces diagnostic times, while improving the flexibility of testing on real devices, even those not natively compatible.
