Zentek Ltd. has reported that its subsidiary, Albany Graphite Corp., achieved near-theoretical anode performance in independent lithium-ion battery testing. Using ultrahigh purity Albany graphite, the company reached an average reversible capacity of approximately 367 mAh/g, just 1.3% below the theoretical maximum. This indicates significant potential for Albany graphite as a high-performance natural graphite anode material.

The results reflect stable cycling and reliability, with the material showing consistent performance over 110 cycles without cell failures. The efficient use of spheroidization byproducts suggests enhanced production yield and sustainability. These findings could position Albany graphite as a competitive choice in the North American battery market.
