Apalach Current, a weekly newsletter covering Apalachicola, Florida, and the surrounding Forgotten Coast, has grown to approximately 2,000 subscribers after beginning as a class assignment for founder Keyla Smotryski. By focusing specifically on the Forgotten Coast, Apalach Current has developed a defined audience centered on one geographic region rather than competing as a broader Florida travel publication.
