Chargeurs launches Skira Education Systems within its Culture & Education platform and announces the acquisition of Institut Beau Cèdre in Switzerland
The Chargeurs Group announces the launch of Skira Education Systems, a new strategic activity dedicated to training and to the development and valorization of high-precision educational, scientific and cultural content. This new entity will be built on the synergy between the editorial excellence of the Skira house—further enriched in parallel through the acquisition of high-value third-party content—and the global expertise in cultural mediation of Chargeurs Museum Studio.
A pioneering heritage serving modern education
By building on the Skira name, the Group reconnects with a long-standing tradition of innovation. As early as the 1950s, Skira had already established itself as a pioneer in the universal dissemination of artistic knowledge through its visionary encyclopedias. Today, Skira Education Systems carries this legacy forward by developing educational programs spanning art, history and science, leveraging the know-how of Museum Studio to make knowledge accessible, engaging and relevant.
Institut Beau Cèdre: Swiss excellence serving cultural management
To support its ambitions in high-level education, Chargeurs has acquired the prestigious Institut Beau Cèdre in Switzerland. Located on the shores of Lake Léman, this exceptional site was designed in the 19th century by Jost, a world-renowned architect. With a long tradition of welcoming global and royal elites, the Institute reflects Switzerland’s legacy of educational excellence for an international audience. Under the Group’s leadership, Institut Beau Cèdre, founded in 1955, will be revitalized and developed into a center of excellence dedicated to cultural professions and cultural management expertise. Designed with the support of Lord Cultural Resources (acquired in 2025) and leading international universities, the programs will target cultural institution leaders and their teams. Offered in both initial and executive education formats, these programs will combine the highest academic standards with the finest codes of hospitality.
Institut Beau Cèdre is expected to open in 2026, the centenary year of the Skira publishing house.
Cultural asset valorization and AI licensing: trusted data
The business model of this new division is built on three strategic pillars:
- Global reach of training programs and cultural experiences: Skira Education Systems will roll out a portfolio of high-level certified programs, addressing both students seeking careers in cultural management and experienced professionals looking to deepen their expertise. In parallel, the platform will design and deliver, both within and beyond the Institute and across the world, artistic discovery programs developed with recognized professionals. These experiences will be offered in museums, schools and as part of premium cultural and tourism experiences.
- Solutions engineering for cultural institutions: The platform will deploy solutions enabling cultural institutions (museums, foundations) to enhance and disseminate their own content in a context of AI-driven transformation, thereby ensuring the long-term relevance of their expertise for audiences.
- Monetization with AI players: At a time when source reliability is one of the key challenges facing artificial intelligence, Skira Education Systems will offer its premium certified content under license. These trusted datasets are essential to the functioning of AI models, providing developers with structured and rigorous data for training high-precision algorithms.
Strategic positioning
This launch is fully aligned with Chargeurs’ global strategy centered on Emotional Intelligence. By combining historical expertise, Swiss architectural prestige and cutting-edge technologies, Skira Education Systems addresses the growing demand for high-quality content and helps secure the transmission of knowledge within tomorrow’s digital ecosystem.
Governance and growth
Skira Education Systems will be led by Delphine de Canecaude, who is also successfully driving the global development of Chargeurs Museum Studio. The growth of this new division will combine organic expansion with targeted acquisitions to accelerate its international development.
Delphine de Canecaude, Chief Executive Officer of Skira Education Systems and Museum Studio, said:
“In a world seeking reliable information and interpretation, the strategic potential of our content is immense. Skira Education Systems brings the rigor required to enable in-depth analysis, authentic emotional engagement and informed decision-making.”
Michaël Fribourg, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Compagnie Chargeurs Invest, concluded:
“Through its pioneering approach within the cultural industries, Compagnie Chargeurs Invest successfully combines heritage, innovation and technological valorization. With Skira Education Systems, we are reaffirming our leadership in Emotional Intelligence by bringing together the prestige of history and the boldness of the future.”
