Christy Belz Launches UPROOT, a Guide to Root Causes
DENVER, USA, October 17th, 2026, FinanceWire
The self-paced program draws on three decades of coaching and consulting work to help people recognize the patterns that keep them stuck.
Leadership coach and author Christy Belz launched UPROOT on Thursday, Oct. 14, an online program designed to help people understand the root causes beneath the reactive patterns that keep them stuck.
The evergreen, self-paced course includes 15 modules and opened for enrollment Thursday at $397 through Nov. 7, rising to $497 on Nov. 8. A payment plan is available. Belz hosted three complimentary webinars Thursday at noon, 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. MST, titled "Why We Get Stuck: Uprooting the Patterns That Keep Us From What's Next," with a follow-up experiential workshop planned Nov. 7 for early enrollees.
UPROOT, an acronym for Ultimate Potential in Relationships, Organizations, Opportunities and Transformation, is built on the idea that most personal-development programs focus on changing behavior, while this one focuses on what sits underneath it. The program moves through three layers: the reactive tendency itself, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or the need for control; for example, the conditioning that produced it and the embodied pattern that keeps activating it long after someone understands what's happening intellectually.
Until now, Belz has taught this material primarily through one-on-one coaching, corporate consulting engagements, and live group cohorts. The evergreen format marks the first time the full UPROOT curriculum is available on demand, with one year of course access so participants can move through the material at their own pace.
What distinguishes UPROOT from most personality or behavior-style assessments is where it stops. Rather than simply naming a behavior or a type, the program draws on Belz's background across social work, systems thinking, leadership development, and emotional intelligence to connect what someone does with what shaped them to do it, and ultimately with what they are free to choose instead.
A central question drives the work: why do capable, self-aware people keep repeating patterns they already know aren't serving them? Belz built UPROOT for adults in that exact position. For some, it shows up as over-functioning, difficulty setting boundaries, or a fear of disappointing others. For others, it is chronic self-criticism, repeated patterns in relationships, or a leadership style that works until it doesn't. It also shows up for people managing overachievement or navigating leadership challenges where old strategies no longer fit. The program is particularly relevant to accomplished women and leaders navigating a major transition or a changing sense of identity and purpose, though Belz designed it to be broadly applicable.
"We can know better and still find ourselves doing the same thing," said Belz, president of Empowerment Coaching and Consulting. "UPROOT helps people understand what is underneath that pattern."
"UPROOT moves beyond asking, 'What is wrong with me?' and instead asks, 'What shaped me, and what do I want to choose differently?'" said Belz.
