Eiffage, through its subsidiaries Eiffage Construction and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, has won several works packages for the new medical-technical platform at Angers University Hospital and the contract for the new Avallon hospital centre, worth a total of €132 million.
New medical-technical platform at Angers University Hospital
Eiffage Construction has been selected to carry out the main structural works, building envelopeand finishing works under the macro-works package for the first phase of the Convergences project at Angers University Hospital. Eiffage Énergie Systèmes has been awardedfor the ventilation and electrical (power and low-voltage) works packages. These contracts are worth close to €109 million in total.
The five-storey, 38,400 m² building will house key medical-technical activities, including emergency services, operating theatres, imaging and adult critical care units. The project aims to achieve HQE Excellent certification and the E+C Level 3 label, with bioclimatic architecture and renewable energy production.
Works began in July 2026 and completion is scheduled for late 2029.
New Avallon hospital centre
Eiffage Construction has also been appointed lead contractor of the consortium to design and build the new Avallon hospital centre, a contract worth a total of nearly €31 million (Eiffage’s share: €23.5 million).
The consortium comprises BSA Architecte, engineering firms Edeis, Ingénieurs associés and Amstein + Walthert and landscape designer Rocher Rouge. The works will draw on other Group areas of expertise, including Eiffage Route for roads and utilities, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes for low-voltage systems and HVA Concept for sanitary modules.
The building with a floor area of 9,676 m² will be the first hospital in France to comply with RE2020 regulations. It will make use of low-impact materials such as low-carbon concrete, bio-based insulation and rooftop photovoltaic energy generation.
Currently in the design phase, works are due to start at the end of the first quarter of 2027, with completion scheduled for late 2028.
These new contracts reinforce Eiffage’s position as a leading partner in the construction and renovation of healthcare infrastructure, playing an active part in building tomorrow’s cities and infrastructure. The Group provides its private and public clients with a turnkey approach, ensuring end-to-end support from the studies and diagnostics phase through to commissioning and infrastructure maintenance.
