Saeed Zarrouk Leads Preparations for Potential Long-Term DAZN Bid to Bring CAF Competitions to a Global Audience

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, September 11th, 2026, FinanceWire

International entrepreneur, investor, chairman of Zar Cap, and advisor to DAZN, Saeed Zarrouk, is leading preparations for a potential long-term bid to establish DAZN as a global media and commercial partner of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Zarrouk serves as chairman of Zar Cap and has an existing working relationship with DAZN as an advisor to the company. DAZN and CAF have an existing broadcast relationship involving the CAF Champions League Finals in the DACH region. The broader 10-year partnership discussed in this release remains proposed and has not been finalized.

The potential bid centers on securing international media and commercial rights to the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the CAF Champions League. The goal is to create a long-term strategic partnership that expands the international reach and commercial value of African football.

“African football has been underestimated for far too long,” said Saeed Zarrouk. “The ambition is clear: to build a global partnership with CAF, expand the international reach of its competitions, and show the world the true power of African football.”

Zarrouk was named to the Forbes Middle East 30 Under 30 list in 2020 as the founder and CEO of Edutest Group.

The strategy builds on Zarrouk’s previous experience supporting the international distribution of CAF competitions. In his role with DAZN, he supported the launch of the CAF Champions League on DAZN DACH, where the competition generated audience engagement and demonstrated international demand for premium African football content beyond its traditional markets.

That experience now serves as the foundation for a broader vision to bring African football to audiences worldwide through DAZN’s global streaming platform. The proposed initiative could create new opportunities for fans, sponsors, broadcasters, and commercial partners across multiple continents.

The proposal envisions a 10-year strategic partnership designed to elevate the international profile of CAF competitions, strengthen their commercial ecosystem, and position African football alongside the world’s leading sporting properties.

If successful, the partnership would seek to accelerate the global growth of African football through expanded distribution, original digital content, increased commercial opportunities, and broader international fan engagement.

The initiative remains subject to CAF’s official tender process, negotiations, and all required approvals. No agreement between DAZN and CAF regarding the proposed initiative has been finalized.
