ROHM Launches 650V IGBTs with Remarkable Efficiency

On August 26, 2026, ROHM Co., Ltd., based in Kyoto, Japan, announced the development of its fourth-generation 650V IGBTs. Designed for automotive electric compressors and HV heaters, these products offer industry-leading low conduction loss. The IGBTs achieve a VCE(sat) of 1.55V while maintaining high short-circuit tolerance and compliance with the AEC-Q101 automotive reliability standard.

As electric vehicles transition to higher voltages, the demand for reliable switching devices like these IGBTs grows. They are widely used in auxiliary systems and industrial equipment, where energy savings and compact design are priorities. ROHM's IGBTs enhance current density and reduce losses, offering a short-circuit withstand time of 7 microseconds.
